He was predeceased by: his father John Johnson; his brothers, Floyd Johnson and Bennie Johnson; his siblings-in-law, Pat Johnson and Larry "Whitey" Tungland; his niece Sherry Johnson; and his great-niece Kaylee Cook.

He is survived by: his mother Betty Johnson (Christensen); and his siblings, Janice Newville (Mike), John Johnson (Nyla), James Johnson (Debby), Mary Jo Tungland (Carl Hartman) and Ricky Johnson (Nikki Treider).

The family asks people to be mindful of social distancing guidelines, wear masks, and follow best practices to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
