He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Bongers and Josephine Bongers (Reichert); his son Steve Bongers; and his brothers, Bill, John and Tony Bongers.
He is survived by: his wife Bonita Wetzel; his children, Mark Bongers (Wendy) and Laura Burkhartzmeyer (Mark); his daughter-in-law Julie Bongers of Faribault; his grandchildren, Cassandra Kersten (Phillip), Alexander, Declan, Mason, Abigale Bongers, Ashley, Mikayla and Jacque Burkhartzmeyer; and his sister-in-law Jeanine Bongers. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
