He was predeceased by : his parents, Elmer Thomason and Florence Thomason (Fitzsimmions); his children, Christopher and Raphael Thomason; and his brothers, Elmer, Eldred, Leo, Vincent, Bernard and Michael.

He is survived by : his wife Florence Owens; his children, Marcella, RJ, Matthew (Jill), Terry, Jr. (Rebecca), Aaron and Gabe (Christine); his grandchildren, Brittani, Zach (McKenzey Olson), Alex, Sophia, Maranda, Savana (Austin Loberg), Mattison, Zane, Alexis (Jordan Hagen), Etta and Izzy; his great grandchildren, Amaris and Aubrie; and his sisters, Rita Cole, Leota Aberle and Mary Lou Pouliot.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church 207 Main St N, Dilworth, MN 56529.
