He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Spicer and Shirley Spicer; his siblings-in-law, Dan Ugrich and Virginia Rootes; and his nephew Michael Ugrich.
He is survived by: his wife Suzanne; his sons, Asa Spicer, Jr. and James Spicer (Teresa); his stepsons, Tim Carlson (Kelly) and Steve Carlson (Liz); his siblings, Lila E. Ugrich, Sandra Ericson (Ken), Beverly Spicer and James Spicer (Joyce); his father-in-law Francis Rootes; his granddaughter Paige Spicer; and his pet Sway. He is also survived by four step grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Zion Lutheran Church.
