He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sobolik and Clara Sobolik (Karnik); and his siblings, Linus, Gerald, John and Sylvia.

He is survived by: his wife Grace; and his daughter Mary Petersen (Ken). He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Joseph's Catholic School or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
