With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dennis Schmitz of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, born in Wadena, Minnesota, who passed away on June 24, 2020 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Schmitz and Fern Schmitz; his parents-in-law, Irvin and Beatrice Nelson; his sons, Craig and Tom; his brothers-in-law, Kenneth Nelson, Walter Roeko and Delvin Huotari; his nephews, Danny Roeko, Baby Schwartz and Tony Putzke; and his niece Cheryl Roeko.
He is survived by: his wife June; his daughters, Kristin Stonemark (Dan) of Esko, MN and Sarah Albrecht (Greg) of Park Rapids, MN; his grandchildren, Israel Schmitz (Heather) of Wrenshall, Dominick Schmitz (Andrea) of Cloquet, MN, James and Jill Albrecht; his siblings, Keith (Deane) of Park Rapids, MN, Sandra Putzke (Gene) of Sebeka, MN and Linda Lilly (George) of Nimrod, MN; and his sisters-in-law, Sharon Huotari-Hemphill (Roy) of Wadena, MN, Linda Covert (Marty) of Sebeka, MN and Kathy Nelson of Spring Lake, MN. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
