He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Klepel and Wanda Klepel (Olson); and his grandfathers, Elmer Olson (Dorothy) and Herman Klepel (Sopie). He is survived by: his former wife Jeanne Wohlsdorf; his son Mathew (Angie Paulson) of Crosby, MN; his sisters, Roxann Dressel (Rick) and Pamela Klepel of Grand Rapids, MN; his granddaughter Talia Paulson; his uncle Eldon Olson (Joyce) of Apple Valley, MN; his aunt Beth Olson (Susan) of Hoviland, MN; and his pets, Jack, Dawn and Bentley.
