He was predeceased by : his mother Tillie Tjosaas (Hanson); his stepmother Vi Tjosaas; his wives, Wilma E. Gades and Loretta Just; his siblings, Gladys Bloom Karen Minor, Victoria Healy, Wesley, Homer, Lyle and Roger; and his son-in-law Dennis Filley.

He is survived by : his children, Connie Filley of Fargo, Jane Thielke (Delroy) of Clontarf, Mark Tjosaas (Brenda) of Fairfax, Cindy Rigge (James) of Granite Falls and Kimberly Miller (Dan) of Dawson; his siblings, Eunice Fredrick, David Tjosaas (Suzanne), Howard Tjosaas, Jeanne Berends and Gary Tjosaas (Sara); and his siblings-in-law, Carol Tjosaas, Kathy Tjosaas and Pat Minor. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren, 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren & eight great great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
