She was predeceased by: her parents, Christian Miller and Gertrude Miller; her husband Tom H. Valen (Talmadge); and her siblings, Morris, Leroy and Joyce Nail.
She is survived by: her sister Mildred Lyons; her children, Gary Valen (Betsy Lyman), Thomas Valen (Martha) and Mary Beth Ehrenberg (Charles); her grandchildren, Mary, David Valen (Leanette), Anna Kjesbo (Matthew) and Megan Ehrenberg; her great grandchildren, Shawnee, Dakota, Skylar Valen, Benjamin Plant, Kylie, Brynn and Grayden Kjesbo; her great great grandchildren, Micheal Sudbrock and Jerimiah Grenz; her stepgrandchildren, Jonathon Spencer (Lisa), Thomas Spencer (Caitlin Chun-Kennedy) and Allison Punwani (Pete); and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Riley, Liam Spencer, Lilah, Brielle and Samuel Punwani.
