It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of David Botten (Hanska, Minnesota), who passed away on August 21, 2021, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Joel Botten Sr. and Evelyn Botten (Thordson); his former life partner Ruth Botten; his stepmother Vernelle Botten; his sister-in-law Maureen Botten; his parents-in-law, William, Nealy Schmidt, Fritz and Maryls Froehling; his sisters-in-law, Evelyn Venable (Winston), Helen Holznagel (Russel), Florence Cornell (Shorty) and Darlene Zimmerli (Al); his nephew Glen Zimmerli; and his brother-in-law Warren Ahlness.

He is survived by : his former life partner Ruth A Schmidt; his sons, Bryan (Tara) of Owatonna and Jordan of Minneapolis; his wife Leslie Botten of Hanska; his daughter Jennifer Lang (Paul) of New Ulm; his siblings, Joel Botten Jr. of St Peter, Darlene Pizel (Ken) of Owatonna and Julie Untiedt (Gary) of New Ulm; his grandchildren, Brandin, Tyler (Cat), Nicole, Cole and Carter; his great grandchildren, Breelyn and Reid; and his parents-in-law, Devon Schmidt (Mary) of Bloomington, Linda Basmoen (David) of Lakeville, Leighann Redmond (DuWayne) and Landis Froehling (Rhonda) of Hanska. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
