He was predeceased by : his former life partner Carol; his parents, Wallace Heidelberger and Hazel Heidelberger; his grandsons, Jeremy Heidelberger and Marcus Cortez; and his siblings, Joyce Gatz, Donald Heidelberger, Kenneth Heidelberger and Leonard Heidelberger.
He is survived by : his wife Rachel; his children, Robert Heidelberger, Jr. (Cindy), Anna Wald (Fran), Barbara Sandeen (John), Dorothy Heidelberger (Harold), Kathleen Dobesh (Darryl), Joan Rustad (Todd) and Wallace Heidelberger (Linda); his stepchildren, Cheryl Quast (Hilary), Karen Lueck, Michael Brown and Laura Sletten; and his siblings, Margaret Brown (Dale), Raymond Heidelberger (Judy), Edward Heidelberger (Lois) and Mary Kay Randt. He is also survived by his 25 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
