He was predeceased by : his parents, Arthur Heard and Ella Heard (Johnson); and his siblings, Marjorie, Olive and Dean.
He is survived by : his wife Doris Selvaag; his children, Susan, Dennis, Sue Helmbrecht (Delwyn) of Henning, Bev Arvidson (Rick) of Parkers Prairie, Carolee Haack (Vern) of Hoffman and Denny Heard (Patty) of Minneapolis; and his sister-in-law Marty Selvaag of Indianapolis, Indiana. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 4 foreign exchange student "granddaughters"; 26 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren.
