It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Vernon E. Zimmermann of Lake City, Minnesota, who passed away on December 9, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Zimmermann and Irma Zimmermann (Wohlers); his sister Marcene Christenoffson; and his pet Windsor (Sheltie). He is survived by: his wife Mary Laqua; his daughters, Lynette Albee (Scott), Lorene Alery (Ron) and Vicki Zimmermann; his grandchildren, Ryleigh Alery, Mason Albee and Carson Albee; his siblings-in-law, John Laqua (Robin) and Rita Laqua; his mother-in-law Rose Mary Laqua; his niece Julie Nunez; his great-niece Isabella; and his pet Shelly (Sheltie).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. John's Lutheran Church (520 W Chestnut St, Lake City, MN 55041). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 at the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery (520 W Chestnut St, Lake City, MN 55041).
Military Honors will be provided by VFW Post 8729 and American Legion Post 110, In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Lake City Athletic Boosters, Lake City Sportsman Club or St John's Lutheran Church.
