He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Hoogeveen and Jennie Hoogeveen (Korthals); his sons, Thomas and Jeffrey Hoogeveen; and his siblings, Don Hoogeveen and Alvina Hup.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Berghorst; his children, Doug Hoogeveen (Pam) of Brandon, Rochelle Damstra (Roy) of Sioux Center, Jill Hoogeveen (Rob Dumdie) of Selby, Tamara Hoppe (Dean) of Prior Lake and Scott Hoogeveen (Stacie) of Omaha, Nebraska; his grandchildren, Alvin, Nickolas, Nicole, Amber, Aric, Noah, Cole and Sophie; his brothers, Art Hoogeveen (Carol) of Prior Lake and Ray Hoogeveen (JoAnn) of Luverne; and his siblings-in-law, Inez Hoogeveen of LeMars and John Hup of Luverne. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
