He was predeceased by: his wife Phyllis'Skip'Wilmes; his son Greg Wilmes (Maggie O'Reilly) of St. Paul; and his brothers, Roger Wilmes, Larry Wilmes, George Wilmes and Don Wilmes.
He is survived by: his children, Paul Wilmes (DeAnn), Ken Wilmes (Linda) of Mankato, Sue Fletcher (Ed) of Hutchinson, Peggy Arce (Chris) of Mapleton and Jessica Espinosa (Antonio) of Maplewood; his daughter-in-law Maggie O'Reilly; his grandchildren, Ryan, Amanda, Jack, Geoff, Katherine, Ben, Ethan, Josie, Alex, Kolten and Erasmus; his great grandchild Rierdan; his sister Judy Stuve; and his siblings-in-law, Dick Stuve, Marlene Wilmes and Jean Wilmes. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A prayer will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the North Mankato Mortuary (2060 Commerce Dr, North Mankato, MN 56003). A Mass will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church (105 N 5th St, Mankato, MN 56001).
