He was predeceased by: his father Leonard Appel; and his sister Sharon Busselman. He is survived by: his mother Albertine Appel (Rolph) of Ivanhoe; his wife Monica Appel of Marshall; his children, Jamie Appel of Marshall and Brandon Appel of Marshall; and his siblings, Linda Carlson (Craig) of Fargo, ND, Ken Appel (Eileen) of Moorhead, Patty Schmitz (Fred) of Duluth, Randy Appel (Abby) of Marshall, Bonnie Lodermeier (Roger) of Cannon Falls, Brenda Fitterer (Steve) of Cannon Falls and Amy Ross of Montrose, MN. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
