He is survived by: his wife Kim Schmitz of Melrose; his children, Stephanie Schmitz (Christian Botello) of Melrose, Derek Schmitz of Melrose and Jadyn Schmitz of Melrose; his brothers, Kris Schmitz of Sauk Rapids and Steve Schmitz (Chandra); his nieces and nephews, Shaelyn, Layla and Olivia of Sauk Centre; his parents-in-law, Kenny and Shirley Toenyan of Long Prairie; and his brothers, Chad Toenyan (Vanessa) of Big Lake, Shaun Toenyan (Sarah) of Litchfield and Dana Botello (Jay Lenz) of Little Sauk. He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews.
