It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virgil Hoppe of Melrose, Minnesota, born in New Munich, Minnesota, who passed away on January 4, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Zeno Hoppe and Veronica Hoppe (Paul); his wife Maria Hoppe; and his siblings, Louise Simmer, Rose Marie Och and James Hoppe.
He is survived by: his children, Janet Conway (Allen) of Apple Valley, Theresa Casey (Robert) of Forest Lake, Cindy Schulze (Otto) of St. Paul and Mark (Shelly) of St. Paul; and his siblings, Joe Hoppe of Freeport, Norman Hoppe of Freeport, Harold Hoppe of Freeport and Janet Hoeschen (Richard) of Minneapolis. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
