He was predeceased by: his sons, Thomas and Michael; and his parents, Elmer and Lavina. He is survived by: his wife Carol; his daughters, Christine and Anne; his granddaughter Lilly Anne; his sister Carol Erickson; and his pet Blitz.

In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Minnesota Masonic Charities or Ronald McDonald House Charities.
