It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet Edith Schoenbauer Retka (Montgomery, Minnesota), who passed away on May 12, 2018, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Schoenbauer and Mary Schoenbauer (Malecha); and her siblings, Mary, Ray, Alfred, Eugene and Edmund.
She is survived by: her spouse Orrin Retka; her children, Maggi Morse (Mike), Carol Schneider (Dale), Luke Retka (Alice), Therese Russell (Dave), Rose Norvet (Brian), Henry Retka, Peter Retka (Jean) and Sarah Rothstein (Tim); and her siblings, Frank Schoenbauer (Doreen), Ann Koenig (Lawrence) and Delia Leahy. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.
Jan suffered from Alzheimer 's disease and lived the last 4 years of her life at Traditions in Montgomery.
