He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Raymond and Agnes Loretta Shriver (Reedy); his former wife Dorothy Hillstad; his sons, Ronald L. and Scott D. Shriver; and his siblings, James, Edward, David, Patrick, Rosemary, Noreen, Helen and Joan.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Pesta-Shriver of Montgomery; his children, Gordon Shriver (Connie) of Montgomery, Mark Shriver of Montgomery and Loretta L. Engel (Virgil) of Blue Earth, MN; his stepchildren, Gregory Pesta, Kenneth Pesta, Deborah Swancott of Waseca and Sarah Crosby; and his brother Larry Shriver of Watertown, SD. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 3 step great grandchildren.
