He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford "Slim" and Lois Sarsland (Price); his brothers, Walter, William and Willis; and his brothers-in-law, Lyle Dahl and Dale "Pete" Peterson.
He is survived by: his wife Donna McLaughlin; his children, Corina Sarsland of Rockford, Carmen Macik (Mike) of Belgrade, Colleen Sarsland (Kevin) of Willmar and Cody Sarsland (Becky) of Belgrade; his grandchildren, Andrew Clancy, Aaron Clancy (Kalley Stage), Arica Clancy (Jesse Schaeffer), Alison Sarsland, Lexi Macik, Troy Sarsland and Trae Sarsland; his great grandchildren, Alice Clancy and Grayson Clancy; and his sisters, Delores Edwards (Dick), Mabel Dahl Peterson and Connie Long (Al).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Living Word Lutheran Church sanctuary building fund.
