It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Genevieve L. Metzdorff (New Prague, Minnesota), who passed away on August 10, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hubert Barten and Edna Barten (Huss); and her brother Roman Barten. She is survived by: her former husband John P. Metzdorff; her children, Patrick Metzdorff (Barbara) of Windsor, CO, Benjamin Metzdorff (Jeanine) of Minneapolis, John Metzdorff (Simone) of New Prague, Margaret Metzdorff of Minneapolis, Tom Metzdorff (Kris) of Waseca, Monica Holicky (Chris) of Veseli and Dan Metzdorff (Keri) of New Prague; her sisters, Edna Weiers of Union Hill, Harriet Giesen of Marshall, MI, Darlene O'Brien (Richard) of Greenville, SC and Noreen Seurer of New Prague; and her sister-in-law Fran Barten of New Prague. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
