He was predeceased by: his siblings, Sandra Krienke, Merlin, Gerald and Dean Brandes; and his parents, Leonhard Brandes and Ruth Brandes (Starke).
He is survived by: his wife Judy Brandes of New Ulm; his children, Lonnie Brandes (Glennda) of New Ulm, Lanae Walker (Rob) of Savage, Lisa Bissen (Patrick) of Albertville and Leslie Brandes (Jennifer) of New Ulm; his grandchildren, Cassandra, Christopher, Tyler Brandes, Tori, Quinn Walker, Courtney, Amanda, Jacob Bissen, Noah, Mason Wilmes, Jackson and Emmalynn Brandes; and his siblings-in-law, Joyce Brandes, Jo Ann Brandes, Lee Krienke and Larry Fehlman. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church or to Allina Hospice.
