He was predeceased by : his parents, Milton Schmidt and Sadie Schmidt (Dosch); his wife C. June Schmidt; his grandson Titus Baxter; and his sisters, Mildred Peterson (Richard) and Faith Bowman (Ed).
He is survived by : his children, Deborah Baxter (Terry) of Garner, Anna Gilkerson (Ward) of North Branch, Stephen Schmidt (Cindi), J. Paul Schmidt (Phyllis) of Clear Lake, Peter Schmidt (Lisa) of Colorado Springs, Daniel Schmidt (Kelly) of Windsor and David Schmidt (Faith) of Pierceton, Indiana; and his brother Phil Schmidt (Lois) of Grantsburg, Wisconsin. He is also survived by 35 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren.
