She was predeceased by : her mother Margaret Smith (Nelson); her husband Marvin "Swede" Nelson; her siblings, Basil Grissman and Judy Stake; and her grandson Jeremy Nelson.

She is survived by : her children, Jeff Nelson (Deb), Craig Nelson and Jill Decker (Gary); her grandchildren, Jason LaValla (Maria), Jake LaValla (Alisha), Jesse LaValla (Mandi), Michael Nelson (Sophia), Maranda Fessenden (Dylan), Kelly Haider (Dylan), Tina Boyle (Landon), Tyler Nelson, Jonathan Decker (Andrea) and Amelia Decker; and her great grandchildren, Dylan Nelson, Matthew LaValla, Joshua LaValla, Caleb LaValla, Noah LaValla, Micha LaValla, Claire Boyle, Brett Nelson, Lincoln Haider, Theodore Haider, Graceson LaValla Irkfetz, Blake Nelson, Elizabeth Decker, Jerry Norris (Rachel) and Malik Norris.
