He was predeceased by : his parents, Roman Barthel and Colette Barthel (Scherber); and his brother Roger. He is survived by : his wife Barbara; his children, John Barthel (Lisa), Erika Nusbaum (Jeff) and Daniel Barthel (Samantha); his stepdaughter Heather Powell (Michael); and his sister Yvonne Roden. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren.
