He is survived by : his wife Barb; his children, David Novotny (Barb) of Renville, Jackie Kemnitz (Greg) of Thompson, John Novotny (Karen) of Ghent and Michael Novotny (Kelly) of Corwith, Iowa; and his grandchildren, Chad Novotny (Cassie), Kendra Rigge (Graham), Trent Novotny (Ashley), Brad Kemnitz (Alyssa), Cassandra Davids (Logan), Chris Novotny, Megan Swedzinski (Josh), Stephanie Hafemann (Reid) and Jasmine Novotny. He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 17th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Friday, May 17th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Zion United Methodist (300 Main St, Danube, MN 56230).
