She was predeceased by: her parents, Vernerd Nelson and Florence Nelson (Lindahl); her siblings, Dorothy Hein and Vernerd Nelson, Jr; and her siblings' children, Kathy Rask and Douglas Rask.
She is survived by: her daughter Kirsten Schirmers; her grandchildren, Brandon Link (Cassie), Joshua Dembroski (Olivia), Anna Dembroski and David Dembroski; her great grandchildren, Lily, Emma and Ella; her sisters, Carolyn Rask and Susan Nelson; and her siblings' children, Mark Rask, Julia Rask, Edward Hein (Sue) and Chris Hein (Jim).
