He was loved and cherished by many people including : his father Gordon Hammel; his wife Diane Hammel of Wanamingo; his children, Hannah Dingfelder (Adian) of West Concord and Bradley Hammel (Savannah) of Zumbrota; his mother Jean Schmoll (Sonny); his siblings, Karen Smith (Bob), Cindy Hammel, JoAnne Burke (Keith), Dan Hammel, Jimmy Hammel and Blaine Austad; his brother-in-law Dewey Wondrasch; his son Wesley Hammel; and his sister Sue Wondrasch.
