She was loved and cherished by many people including: her mother Hildegard Grossberg; her daughters, Rita Nesteby (Bob) of Phoenix, Lilah Meier (Marv) of Baltic and Peggy Pomranke (Billy) of Mankato, Minnesota; her former husband Kenneth Sumption; her husband Robert Lavoie; and her grandsons, Peter, Paul Nebben and Tony Meier. She was also cherished by seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
On Thursday, December 31, 2020, Aino died from causes unrelated to COVID-19 at Oak Terrace in North Mankato, Minnesota.
