He was predeceased by : his brother Eric; and his grandparents, Emil, Vivian Kelm, Archie and Florence Helgeson.

He is survived by : his parents, Chet Kelm and Sherry Kelm (Helgeson) of Longville; his wife Patty Blackstad of Sauk Rapids; his sons, David (Whitney) of Sauk Rapids, Chet (Emily) of Sartell and Christopher of Sauk Rapids; his siblings, Todd (Rachelle) of Sartell, Jennifer Peterson (Brett) of Sauk Rapids and Jessica Grabinski (Michael) of Sauk Rapids; and his grandchildren, Adeline, Beckett, Liam, Harper, Griffin, Eric, Cade and Barrett.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 22nd 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, May 23rd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Love of Christ Lutheran Church (1971 Pine Cone Rd S, St Cloud, MN 56303). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 23rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Prince of Peace Lutheran school.
