He was predeceased by : his parents, Leroy Thate and Ida Thate (Viesselman); his cousin Vance Welchlin; and his brother Robert. He is survived by : his spouse Beverly Swenson; his children, Steven, Gail and Diane; and his grandchildren, Tyler and Katie.
