He was predeceased by: his parents, Hiliarian Ehlert and Theresa Ehlert (Schwieters); his children, Susan Hiltner and Richard Hiltner; and his grandson Mitchel Hiltner.
He is survived by: his wife Pat (Rieland) of St. Joseph; his children, Mark Hiltner (Sara Anderson) of Richmond, Scott Hiltner (Cindy) of St. Cloud, Thomas Hiltner (Cecilia) of Ewa Beach, HI, Cory Ehlert (Julie) of St. Joseph and Shannon Nied (Jeff) of St. Michael; and his siblings, Karen Goebel (Melvin) of Freeport, LuAnn Goebel (Ron) of Albany, David Ehlert (Rosie) of Freeport, Jan Boeckers (Ralph) of St. Cloud and Mary Kay Evans (Eric) of Buffalo. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church (12 W Minnesota St, St Joseph, MN 56374). A prayer will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family for a bench in Allen's memory along the Lake Wobegon Trail.
