It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Kathleen H. Leifeld of Vermillion, Minnesota, who passed away on January 3, 2021, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Gerster and Dorothy Gerster (Peine); her husband George Leifeld; her siblings, Al Gerster, Olivia Lorentz, Bernice Molitor and Lorraine Rother; and her granddaughter Emma Olson.
She is survived by: her sisters, Alvera Niebur and Dorothy Werner; her sister-in-law Bonnie Gerster; and her children, Helen Wood (Gary), Nancy Traen (Richard), Monica Scully, Rose Brennan (Paul), Lisa Youngren (Terry), John Leifeld (Patty), Jim Leifeld (Sandy), Jeff Leifeld (Aimee) and Julie Olson (Grant). She is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; and her many special nieces and nephews and dear friends.
Due to COVID-19, a private family Mass of Christian Burial and interment will take place at St. John the Baptist Church, Vermillion, MN.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
