He is survived by: his wife Anne Hilchen; his children, Charity Hilchen Coates, Ann-Marie Hilchen (Terry Lacher) and Paul Hilchen (Jena); his siblings, Ron Adams (Karen) and Sharon Rago (Cliff); and his siblings-in-law, Connie Hilchen, Jeanne Salmon Carey and Clarence Berndt. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
