He was predeceased by : his wife Sandra Schaefer; his parents, Harvey Schaefer and Arvilla Schaefer; his siblings, Russell Schaefer and Judith Smith; his daughter Lisa Babcock; and his siblings-in-law, Dolores Schaefer, William "Bill" Lee, III and Cynthia J. Moore.
He is survived by : his children, Terri Sparks (Douglas) of Houston, MN and Michael Schaefer (Teri) of Wabasha, MN; his grandchildren, Christopher Sparks of Houston, MN, Jacob Sparks of Winona, MN, Sabrina Babcock of Beloit, WI, Emily Babcock of Houston, MN, Kyle Schaefer (Kelly) of Milton, WI, Jena Schaefer and Mia Schaefer; and his great grandchildren, Kaylie Foley-Schaefer of Janesville, WI and Wyatt Schaefer of Milton, WI. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
