He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Moench and Jennie Moench (Berry); his son Michael Duane; and his siblings, Phyllis Hassa, Verle "Bud" Moench, Lois Frey, Cecil Moench, Fred "Fritz" Moench, Lyle Moench, Joy Murch, Virgil Moench, Ruby Olson, Lou Fern, Darrell Moench, LaVonne Erickson, Mardelle Ginette and Loel Moench.
He is survived by: his wife Gisela Mülhaupt; his children, Carol Moench of Jacksonville, Heidi Lockaby (Todd) of Ottertail, Michelle Richter (Brian) of Verndale and Duane Moench (Jillian) of Wadena; and his brothers, Gordon Moench and Ramon Moench.
