He is survived by: his children, Tom Hammes (Kathy) of Wadena, Kathy Nyberg (Craig) of Escondido, CA, Mike Hammes (Rose) of Wadena, Susan Roggenkamp (Kelly) of Wadena, Bill Hammes of Verndale, Mary Trout (John) of Wadena, Bob Hammes of Verndale, Joan Brakner (Glen) of Paola, KS, Jean Hammes of Alexandria, MN and Joseph Hammes, Jr. of Richmond, MN; and his sisters, Irene Vittetoe and Ione Marchand.
