He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilhelm "William" and Mildred Heidecker (Widman); his daughter-in-law Lisa Heidecker (Schmitz); his grandson Jeremy Hinkemeyer; and his siblings, Bill, Bob Heidecker, Annie Angrimson and Mary Prins.
He is survived by: his wife Delores Joan Nelson; his children, Richard Heidecker (Theresa) of Willmar, Jim Heidecker (Amy) of Rapid City, Linda Hinkemeyer (Brian) of Pennock and Lisa Heidecker of Lake Lillian; and his sisters, May Evarts of Garland and Nellie Martin (Chuck) of Ocala. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
