He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Pater and Dena Pater (Boekhout); his wife Karla Pater; his sisters, Charlotte Hanson and Darlene Christensen; and his son-in-law John MaComb.
He is survived by: his children, Lyle Pater (Paula) of Arlington, VA, Nichole Brooks (Dino) of Pierre, SD and Joni Belair (Chris); his grandchildren, Zachariah, Jordyn, Alexis, Tyler, Brooklyn, Brendan and Landon; and his great grandchild Gracelynn.
