He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Stanek and Agnes M. Kastl Stanek; his daughter Trudy Stanek; and his siblings, Helen (Dwight Magruder) and Richard (Ginger Stanek).

He is survived by : his former life partner Bonita Kay Davis; his wife Bonnie Stanek; his son David (Marie Magruder) of Edmond, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Tyler, Dakota and Kylie Magruder; and his brother Jimmie (Karen Stanek) of Missouri Valley, Iowa.
