He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Short and Irene Short (White); his wife Alberta Maxine "Mickey" Short; his siblings, James, Junior Short and Ermma Dean Mathes; and his stepmother Mabel Short.
He is survived by: his children, Rhonda Gaston (Norman), Donna Lammert (Richard), Wayne Short (Melanie), Shawn James (Joe Hammack) and Deidra Johns (Tommy). He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
