He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Paul Ames, Betty Ames (House), Corby Bates and Filman Weiss; and his cousin Tommy Baker.

He is survived by: his mother Linda Weiss; his husband Glen; his father Corby Bates; his children, Kayden Michael and Christy Ames; his siblings, Julie Overby, Jessie Bates and Sarah Keen; his stepsisters, Crystal Birdsong (Paul) and Laura Isgrigg (Jamie); his grandmothers, Esther Bates and Verla Weiss; his uncles, Bob Carroll and Eddie Ames; and his aunt Vickie Carroll. He is also survived by several other aunts, uncles and friends.
