He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred P. Gilliam and Carolyn Gilliam (Hall); and his parents-in-law, Charles, Myrtle Pitts, Betty Jo and Robert Steinbecker.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Gilliam (Pitts); his daughters, Christina Laramore (Levi) and Winona Borton; his grandchildren, Maddison, Jayce Borton, Benjamin and Vanessa Laramore; his sister Karen Dee (Tim); and his fathers-in-law, Daniel Marler, Marvin Pitts (Betty) and Stephen Pitts (Tonya). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
