He was predeceased by : his siblings, Mary Butler, Mryt Reid, Ella Brown, Dottie Harrelson and Lennie Dale Shinn; and his brothers-in-law, Marion Richards, Morris Reid and Jim Harrelson.

He is survived by : his sons, Clinton Shinn (Amanda Henderson) of Reno, Justin Shinn of Laddonia and Kyle Shinn (Meaghan McKenna) of St. Peters; his grandchildren, Caitlyn Shinn of Nevada, Tyler Shinn of Nevada and Garrett Shinn of Nevada; his siblings, Elmer Shinn (Carol) of Frankford, Roger Shinn (Stephanie) of Bowling Green, Wayne Shinn of Missouri, Carl Shinn (Nancy) of Holts Summit, Lois Richards of Center, Lanette Bird of Bowling Green and Neta Elder (Harry Cleve) of Frankford; and his siblings-in-law, Barb Shinn of Bowling Green, Bryce Butler of Quincy and Joe Brown of Texas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
