He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Hess and Julia Hess (Wilson). He is survived by: his wife Verna Hess (Sutton); his pet Ruger; his children, Anthony Dodd (Marci) of Cairo, MO, Deanna Pinnell of Carrollton, MO and Richard Hess (Marinda) of Cairo, MO; his grandchildren, Tiffani Dodd, Josh Pinnell, Colby Dodd (Payton), Nathan Jennings, Emily Jennings, Kyle Jennings, Anna Hess and Richard; his great grandchildren, Benji, Olivia, Parker, Eyden, Max, Esmee, Evaeh, Emmaline, Gatlin, Natalie and Gentry; and his brother Philip Hess (Brenda) of Cairo, MO. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and several close longtime friends and neighbors.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Cater Funeral Home Chapel (1520 E Rollins St, Moberly, MO 65270). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
