He was predeceased by: his parents, Omer Simmons and Minnie Sheets Simmons; and his sisters, Wilma Joy Simmons, Gloria Duffield, Joanne Frye and Eve McVicker.
He is survived by: his wife Anna Simmons of Cape Girardeau; his children, Darrell Simmons, II (Carrie) of St. Louis and Kathy Paar (Jon) of St. Peters, Missouri; his siblings, Roger Simmons of Tennessee and Gail Mahar (Hal) of Nashua; and his grandchildren, Kara, Erika, Whitney, Taylor and Grant.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
