He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Roy and Myrtie May Stewart Smith; and his siblings, Elmer Smith, Ray Smith, Wanda Morris (Clarence), Evelyn Johnson (Glen), Muriel Dombroski (Anthony), Jo Francis (Pete), Lyda Fornkahl (Ivan) and Virginia Poston (Rodney).
He is survived by: his children, Sandra "Sandy" Vaughn (Jon) of Marble Hill, Missouri, Michael Smith (Mary) of Cape Girardeau and Timothy Smith (Karen) of Desoto, Missouri; his sister Judith Dumbach (Ed) of Cape Girardeau; his grandchildren, Samuel Smith, Savannah Smith, Lee Smith, Russell Smith, Jaime Stroder (Skip) and Stacie Dotson (Stephen); and his great grandchildren, Trenton Smith, Cody Schremp (Lizz), Tyler Stroder, Grant Dotson and Evan Dotson.
