He was predeceased by: his parents, Rexford L. Ruff and Pauline Nichols Ruff; his former wife Helen Ruff; his wife Beverly Sue Ruff; his son Charlie Ruff of Illinois; his siblings, Clifford Ruff and Nancy Murphy (Frank); his brother-in-law Terry Watson; and his son-in-law Scott Deutschmann.
He is survived by: his children, Christopher Ruff (Julie) of Moline, Reo Smith (Kathleen Windeknecht) of Cape Girardeau, Candance Spraul (Chris) of St. Mary and Tamara Loveland of Washington, Missouri; his sister Frances Martin (John) of Parma, Missouri; his grandchildren, Eric, Christian, Chyann, Destiny, Ethan, Hayden, Jaxstyn, Rebecca-Pauline, Terry, Kaylee and Jacob; and his great grandchildren, Brycen, Bennett and Bo.
